Sand n Straw Foundation

At Sand n' Straw Foundation, children dig in the soil, harvest fruit from trees, and learn skills that connect them to the living world around them.

Sand n' Straw Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a six-acre regenerative farm in Vista, California. We tend six acres without pesticides or chemicals of any kind — working with nature, not against it.

Our farm is home to Young Pioneers, our outdoor enrichment program for children ages 3 to 10, along with seasonal workshops, farm experiences, garden and fruit tree education, and community harvest opportunities.

Everything we do is an invitation: to touch the soil, grow something real, and discover that learning happens best when it happens outside.

Our heart is simple: to care for the land, teach practical skills, help children love learning, and share the beauty and abundance of the farm with others.

Our Mission

Sand n' Straw Foundation exists to connect children, families, and community members to the land through hands-on learning, real food, and time spent outside.

We do this through Young Pioneers, our outdoor enrichment program for children ages 3 to 10, and through farm shares, workshops, farm tours, and seasonal harvest experiences open to the broader community. Everything we offer happens on our six-acre regenerative farm in Vista, California — grown without pesticides or chemicals of any kind.

We believe children learn best when they're outside with their hands in the soil. We believe families grow stronger when they share a table and a harvest. And we believe a working farm, tended well and shared generously, is one of the most powerful gifts a community can offer its people.
